Kung Fu Fighting Music Videos

I was sitting in front of the TV the other night when this video got my attention:

It's Sam Concepcion's cover of Kung Fu Fighting, the theme song of the animated movie Kung Fu Panda. Dreamworks is doing a Disney here in having regional artists record their own versions of music from the movie.

The other Asian to do a cover of the same song is a Korean - Rain Jung Ji Hoon:

Rain's version is a bit more subdued and more of a club or dance song compared to Sam's version which is definitely pop.

The American version is by Cee-Lo Green, who's got a more powerful voice than the other two:

Sam's video is more fun to watch though... Cee-Lo and Rain don't do much in their videos other than sing. Sam gets to do some fun acting in his.

Can't wait for Kung Fu Panda to be shown in Philippine theaters in June. I like Jack Black when he's doing animated movies... and I adore the not-animated movie where the role was perfect for him: School of Rock.

Zelle: Akala Mo Lang

"ang OFFICIAL VALENTINE’S SONG para sa 2008" according to Ian (Lauron) ... if you're breaking up with someone that is. I may have misinterpreted the lyrics, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Lyrics: Akala Mo Lang

Pagyakap sa'yo ng mainit,
at pagkapit ng mahigpit.
Pagsama sa'yong mga gimik
at pag-amin ng aking pag-ibig.

Refrain
Masaya sayo'ng piling at sa'yong
pag-ibig.

Chorus
Pero di kita mahal, akala mo lang
Hindi kita mahal, hindi mo ba alam.
Pagpanggap ng aking pag-ibig,
at pangakong walang patid.
Iiwan ka ring sawi,
at aasa kang magbabalik

Repeat Refrain

Repeat Chorus
Bridge

Eh bakit anjan ka pa?
H'wag ka ng umasa pa

chorus:
Hindi kita mahal,akala mo lang.
Hindi kita mahal, hindi mo ba alam

A New Video from Zelle

Opened my YouTube account after about a week of not visiting it. Saw from my subscription box that Zelle has a new video:

Once again, nice music - even if their song's subject matter tends to be "not my type". I think I wrote that to Ian when he started promoting this band (coincidentally, I decided to create an account on YouTube because Ian was promoting the "Sabihin" video via YouTube).

Happy for Zelle (and their managers) that "Sabihin" is getting a lot of airplay these days. Now if only they make a video where the topic is not about heartbreak or stuff close to it. Ha ha ha! I like their sound but I'm just not into their lyrics. Then again... Filipinos love those kind of songs. Oh well.

----edit------

Just realized someone posted a comment on a previous "Sabihin" entry I made. The poster preferred to be anonymous but had some good points ... so I e-mailed them to Ian just in case he thinks the band would appreciate the comment or not.

Crazy but Incredible

Crazy But Incredible, Brian Josef's carrier single, and also the title of his debut album released under Sony BMG Music Entertainment.

Words and music of all 12 songs in the album are by Brian.

I like ;-)

Zelle the Band on the radio

I've been hearing "Sabihin" sung by the Zelle band on the radio for about a week now. That must be good news to Ian, whose company, Talentfolio, manages them. I think they launched the band last June. The song is from their album, "Search for Warmth".

In case you haven't noticed, clicking the Song title brings you to the music video on YouTube.

Added on 22-Sep/2007:

Was browsing record shops in Makati last night: didn't find any CD of Zelle displayed anywhere. Lots of DVD movies on sale though... almost bought some but decided not to.

Zelle Music Video: Sabihin

Ian Lauron sent me a link to YouTube promoting a band called Zelle which he says is going to be launched soon.

It is a music video of the band's song "Sabihin", which in turn is from the album "Search for Warmth"
