Movie: Flushed Away

Flushed AwayStudios:DreamWorks Animation
Release:November 3, 2006
Genre:Comedy and Animation
MPAA Rating:PG for crude humor and some language

Having heard so much of "Chicken Run" and "Wallace and Gromit" but never having the chance to see them, "Flushed Away" is the nearest I could get to catching a movie from the same people who made the first two.

Based on the posters, I had initially thought that the lead here is of the James Bond mold. I was wrong. He does end up doing James Bond stuff but Roddy was initially a pet rat who ended up being flushed down the toilet into the world of the sewer rats. The adventure begins for Roddy as he tries to adapt to the different environment he has been thrust into.

This movie is not lacking in adventure and gags. If Madagascar had the penguins, this movie has the frogs. I enjoyed it and could only think that the reason it did not do so well in USA is the Brit wit. Shouldn't be a surprise. If you have to change philosopher's stone to sorcerer's stone just so a children's book would make sense to an American kid ... imagine how much more you have to change in this movie just to make them understand what the joke's about.
